HOW FEO Y LOCO CAME TO PLAY AT BUBBA'S (IN SOME MANY WORDS) The band has been doing this gig since 1991 on the Saturday closest to Bari's birthday of August 28 - but not that's not on Labor Day weekend. In 1991 the very first birthday gig was in Bari's Houston apartment. Crammed into Bari's tiny living room were nearly 6 people - we played next to the cheese-whiz dip. The next year we also played at Bari's aprtment. There were over 100 people so we moved the gig to Bubba's Texas Burger Shack. Only Bubba's, with it's wide open spaces, was large enough to hold this special event. Actually, Cynthia Woods Mitchell pavilion was large enough, but we got barred from there after that incident with the cocker spaniel at Cynthia's home - but that's a story for another time. As yes, 1991. You remember 1991, right? A clown named Bush was in the White House, our military was in Iraq and -- hey, it's deja vu all over again. In 1991 the world was normal and we were weird, now the world is weird and we are (gasp) normal. Well, not that normal. Have you listened to Butt Plugs lately? So take a few hours away from the weird real world and spend some time in Feo World - where everything is so weird it seems normal. Come have a drink, a buffalo burger and do the underwear dance, and buy lots of our new CD's. Bari Bradini will be looking down on us, smiling in approval, and wondering who will pick up his tab. And for the devoted Bradini fans, we will have our retrospective Bradini DVD on sale. This DVD is only sold at the Bubba's gig so if you snooze, you lose. As always, the more you drink the better we sound. |
